Strangford is a unique area.
A quiet relaxing spot that is waiting to offer you a chance to unwind and sit back for a while. Country roads with fuschia and blackberry bushes invite leisurely strolls or drives. Stunning views of Strangford Lough tempt you to take a photogragh or paint this beautiful landscape. Park at the quayside, gaze at the boats as you have an ice cream.
Take your fishing rod and pass the time watching the seals bobbing in the waters. The ferry will pass you to and from Portaferry where you can catch the views and sample the restaurants on both sides, where local tasty seafood is plentiful and fresh.
Castleward is just on the edge of the town and is within easy walking distance. This National Trust property holds many events throughout the year for all the family. Most recently, the Easter Fair in March. Great days out for the family. Enjoy house tours, lough excursions and scenic walks.
Strangford is a small friendly town that is not too far away. You unwind when you enter, with a panoramic scene of sails and seabirds. Sunny days with a picnic, or a quiet pint in a local pub, fun days at the beach or maybe you were here years back. This area is timeless.
